Weekend Plans: Sorted
I spent way too long this week "testing" the new games we just added. Someone had to do it. And honestly? We got some really good ones this time around.
There's a mix of everything — fashion, chaos, puzzles, and swinging stickmen. Something for whatever mood you're in. Let me walk you through what caught my attention.
First, Some Fashion
I'm not usually a dress-up game person, but What's In My Bag? hooked me with the bag concept. You pick outfits and makeup looks, sure, but then you get to style these cute bags and fill them with stuff. Each one ends up telling a little story about the character you dressed.
It's like playing fashion editor for an afternoon. The props are fun — there are influencer accessories and girly items that made me laugh. If you've ever fallen down a "what's in my bag" video rabbit hole on YouTube, this is basically that but you get to play it.
Good for: quick style sessions when you need a mental break.
Now the Opposite of That
Okay so Grunge Chic Alt Fashion is where I lost track of time. I didn't expect to care this much, but the clothing options are really good. We're talking plaid skirts, ripped jeans, oversized jackets, fishnets, combat boots — the whole alt fashion toolkit.
What I liked is that it doesn't just go full hot-topic-circa-2005. There's a mix of grunge edge with chic pieces, so you can put together looks that feel styled instead of just thrown together. I made about twelve outfits before I realized I should probably write this blog post.
The layering options are where it shines. Jacket over hoodie over tee kind of energy.
Good for: anyone who had a phase in high school. Or is still in that phase. No judgment.
Time to Cause Problems
I needed a palate cleanser after all that styling, and Cat Life Simulator: Devil Cat delivered.
You play as a mischievous cat wreaking havoc in Grandma's house. First-person perspective. You literally see through the eyes of a troublemaker cat. I knocked over a lamp within the first thirty seconds and felt a strange sense of accomplishment.
The 3D graphics are charming — colorful and a little cartoonish in the best way. Grandma's house has all these rooms to explore and things to push off shelves. It's satisfying in the same way as watching those cat compilation videos, except you're the cat.
My favorite part was discovering that different objects have different reactions. Some shatter. Some bounce. Some make Grandma come investigate. The chaos escalates beautifully.
Good for: stress relief. There's something therapeutic about being a tiny agent of destruction.
Brain Empty, Bubbles Pretty
After my reign of terror as a cat, I needed something calmer. Bubble Sorting Infinite Remastered was exactly right.
The concept is simple: sort colored bubbles into matching tubes. Stack them up and they pop. That's it. That's the whole game.
And somehow I played for forty minutes straight.
The "remastered" version has smoother visuals and more color options as you progress. You start with simple three-bubble stacks, but later levels have up to ten. The difficulty curve is gentle — you barely notice it getting harder until suddenly you're focused and in the zone.
This is peak "waiting for water to boil" gaming. Or "listening to a podcast" gaming. Or "should be sleeping but just one more level" gaming.
The popping sound when you complete a set is genuinely satisfying. I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
Good for: winding down . Also procrastinating.
A Little Action to Finish
Super Swing was the surprise favorite of the batch. You play as a stickman swinging through colorful levels, solving physics-based puzzles along the way.
It's a hyper-casual game, so the controls are simple — tap to attach your rope, release to fly. But the level design gets surprisingly creative. There are obstacles to dodge, gaps to cross, and some genuinely funny physics moments when things don't go as planned.
The stickman ragdolls in the most entertaining way when you mess up. I may have failed a few levels on purpose just to watch it happen.
Each scene has a different theme with fresh challenges. It keeps things interesting without being overwhelming. And the swinging mechanic feels good — there's actual momentum and physics involved, which makes nailing a perfect arc super satisfying.
Good for: quick play sessions. Also anyone who misses the simple joy of flash games.
