When Life Gives You Potatoes...

You ever have one of those days where you just want to turn your brain off and watch numbers go up? Same. That's basically my entire weekend philosophy at this point. And honestly? I think that's perfectly fine.

This week we added five new games to ProGames, and they all share something in common: they let you build something from nothing. Whether it's a potato chip empire or a sheep farm that would make your grandmother proud, there's something deeply satisfying about starting small and watching your little operation grow.

Let me walk you through what's new.

The Oddly Satisfying Journey of a Potato

Okay, I need to talk about

Potato Chips Simulator

first because it made me realize I have strong opinions about virtual potatoes.

Here's the thing — most farming games stop at "grow crop, sell crop." Boring. This one lets you follow the entire journey. You plant the potatoes. You harvest them. You turn them into chips. You put those chips on shelves and sell them to customers. It's the full supply chain, and I don't know why more games don't do this.

There's something weirdly meditative about going through each step. Slice. Fry. Season. Package. I played for forty minutes before I realized I hadn't blinked. My eyes were dry but my soul was refreshed.

Is it the most complex game ever? No. But that's the point. You always know what to do next, and there's comfort in that clarity. Sometimes you don't want to figure out a puzzle. Sometimes you just want to make chips.

Sheep Are the New Cats

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the internet's obsession with cats is played out. Sheep are where it's at. And

Just Farm

proves me right.

This is an idle farming game where you buy sheep, sell their wool, and breed new varieties. The sheep are drawn in this soft, chunky art style that makes them look like little clouds with legs. I'm not ashamed to admit I made a small noise when I unlocked my first rare breed.

What I appreciate about Just Farm is that it respects your time. There are levels with clear tasks and actual bonuses for completing them. You're not just aimlessly clicking — there's progression that feels earned. But it's also not stressful. The game doesn't punish you for stepping away.

I left it running while I made lunch and came back to a nice pile of wool money. That's the dream, honestly. Passive income, but make it sheep.

Sugar, Spices, and Everything Nice About Capitalism (The Fun Kind)

Look, I know "tycoon" games have a reputation for being dry spreadsheets disguised as entertainment. But

Cake & Candy Business Tycoon

gets the balance right.

You're taking over a family candy business. Nostalgic, right? Your goal is to grow the factory, hire managers, and automate production lines until you're basically Willy Wonka but with better business sense.

The loop is satisfying: upgrade a machine, watch it produce faster, use that money to upgrade something else. Before you know it, you've got five production lines humming along and a manager for each one while you sit back and feel like a genius.

I will warn you — there's a specific moment around the third candy type where you'll think "just one more upgrade" and then suddenly it's 2 AM. Ask me how I know.

Not Your Grandma's Farm (Unless Your Grandma Had Secrets)

Family Relics

Family Relics

is the wild card of this batch, and I mean that literally.

On the surface, it looks like a standard farm game. You inherit an estate in Willow Hills from an estranged uncle. You clean up the property. You grow crops. You tend animals. Classic stuff.

But then things get... weird. The description literally says "don't be fooled by the rural farm life, because life in Willow Hills is anything but—" and then cuts off. I'm pretty sure that's intentional. There's adventure lurking beneath all those turnips.

I don't want to spoil too much because the surprises are half the fun. But let's just say this game has more in common with a mystery novel than with Farmville. If you want your farming with a side of "wait, what just happened," this is your pick.

And Now For Something Completely Different

I'm gonna be real with you —

Wake up Buddy

Wake up Buddy

doesn't really fit with the others thematically. It's not a farming game or a tycoon. It's more of an... arcade game? A physics toy? A meditation on the futility of alarm clocks?

Here's the premise: your buddy is asleep. Very asleep. After-a-wild-party asleep. You need to wake them up. Your tools? Increasingly absurd weapons starting with gentle nudges and escalating to actual grenades.

It sounds violent but it's pure cartoon slapstick. The stickman physics are wobbly and ridiculous. Every time you land a hit, your buddy ragdolls across the bedroom in the dumbest way possible. You can upgrade your weapons, upgrade your power, and even upgrade the room's interior for some reason.

I played this for twenty minutes thinking "this is so dumb" while actively not stopping. Sometimes a game doesn't need to be deep. Sometimes you just need to toss a virtual grenade at a sleeping stickman.

Where to Start?

If you want pure relaxation, go with Just Farm or Potato Chips Simulator. They're rhythmic and predictable in the best way.

If you want something with more teeth, Family Relics will keep you on your toes.

If you want to feel like a business genius without doing actual math, Cake & Candy Business Tycoon has you covered.

And if you just want to laugh at ragdoll physics for a while? Wake Up Buddy is waiting.

All five are free to play right here on ProGames. No downloads, no accounts, no nonsense. Just open a tab and go.

Happy farming. Or candy-making. Or buddy-waking. Whatever your weekend needs, we've got it.
